Ridikuius
"Ridikuius" is inspired by my personal fears of insects and heights. It uses brain-computer interaction to create an immersive environment where participants can confront and transform their anxieties.
Background
Definition of Panic
Phobias are anxiety disorders characterized by an overwhelming, irrational fear of specific objects, places or situations that can seriously disrupt the lives of those affected. Studies have found that women have higher levels of specific phobias than men, and higher levels of specific phobias in high-income countries than in low-income countries.
Impact of panic on people
Most phobias manifest themselves by the time a child is seven years old. One of the effective methods of healing is cognitive-behavioral therapy, and more specifically, exposure and response prevention, a method of repeatedly confronting patients with what they fear. With time and continued exposure, the symptoms of panic, rapid heartbeat, cold sweats, and shortness of breath gradually diminish.
Production Process
The game utilizes brain-computer interaction technology to adjust gameplay based on the player's level of concentration, with scary creatures and environments transforming into harmless or even adorable looks when the player's attention is distracted.
